Harborough Innovation Centre is home to over 50 local businesses. Plus, with meeting rooms that service up to 60 people, it is a popular venue for training and conferencing events.
However, over the past three years, the centre has developed its offering. ‘We could see the way people were working was evolving, so we introduced more flexible workspaces such as day offices and hot desks,’ explains Tim Bradbury, Business Centres Manager. ‘We could see a growing demand for people who were working from home more frequently, who still might need somewhere quiet and professional to work which was also local to home. Since then, we have seen a steady flow of new clients using our offices, meeting rooms and hot desks, particularly in the school holidays when home life becomes busier!’ For anyone who runs a business or regularly works from home, the need for more space and a change of scenery is only too common. So, what sets the Innovation Centre apart from a coffee shop or other local meeting space? ‘We’re ideally located just north of Market Harborough town centre, with excellent access to major road and rail links. We have free, on-site parking, 11 electric vehicle car-charging points and dedicated bike racks. Our audio-visual conference equipment and superfast Wi-Fi ensures seamless video conferencing. ‘There is also the opportunity to connect with other businesses. With such a breadth of business knowledge located in the centre, there are great networking opportunities, free events and business workshops. For those businesses who are just starting out and may need a bit of extra help, the Innovation Centre also offers targeted and tailored business support. This includes strategic coaching and mentoring, as well as advice on business funding through government grants and employment placements. ‘Plus, we have Milos, our popular on-site café which offers locally roasted coffee, hot drinks, made to order breakfast and lunch options. The café has a great selection of home-made cakes, so you will be spoilt for choice whether just for lunch or your full conferencing catering needs. ‘The Centre is an energetic and vibrant workplace and business community.
